Monica earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a minor in Psychology, from Frostburg State University. In college she was a Resident Assistant and Membership Chairman for her chapter of Alpha Xi Delta National Women's Fraternity.
Following graduation, she worked as a professional career recruiter in the Washington DC market. She went on to work in the insurance industry progressing through various positions: Regional Office Supervisor at Banner Life, Regional Manager at FHP Healthcare - Arizona, and finally as Director of Customer Service for Foundation Federal Health Services.
After taking a career break to raise her two children, Monica reentered the workforce as a Print Advertising Designer. Concurrent with this she started a consulting business providing speech writing for audiences of all sizes, technical writing of web content, print advertising, and branding materials. She also worked as a public school substitute teacher, and served for two years as a Service Unit Manager for Girl Scouts of Connecticut.

In May 2012, Monica started working at UConn - Storrs as the interim Academic Advisor for the Department of Psychology with a starting caseload of over 600 students. In November 2012, she started as the Program Coordinator for the UConn College of Engineering Undergraduate Program. In this role, she coordinates events such as: College of Engineering Career Fairs, Senior Design Demo Day, Commencement, the Law School for Engineers event and others. She assists program faculty, staff, and students; responds to inquiries from students, parents, faculty, and others regarding program policies, procedures, and requirements, making referrals as appropriate. In support of students, Monica strives to find answers for any student who needs assistance and thereby has become a “go to” resource to help undergrads in their journey to be successful college students. In 2023, she was promoted to the Educational Program Administrator - Experiential Education.
Monica is also the Assistant Director of the Engineering House Learning Community (EHLC) and a UNIV-1810 instructor, a course for first-year students in the EHLC. At the end of the 2022-2023 academic year, she was selected from a pool of all UConn FYE instructors to be recognized as the FYE Instructor of the Year.
Monica served as the faculty advisor for the Acts of Kindness Initiative club until 2021. Prior to this, from May 2014 to May of 2017, she was the Staff Advisor for the MEM Society.
Monica loves traveling and anything "art." She has a husband and two children (both are UConn grads).

Nick Delaney, Ed.D.
Director | Engineering Experiential Education
Dr. Nick Delaney has been working at UConn since 2013 in several capacities. He started as an administrator in the School of Fine Arts Dean’s Office, then as an academic advisor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ Academic Services Center before joining the team at the College of Engineering. He earned a B.A. in Legal Studies and Education from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, an M.Ed. in Elementary and Special Education from Westfield State University, a Graduate Certificate in Post-Secondary Education and Disability Services from the University of Connecticut, and a Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership with a focus in organizational leadership in higher education management from the University of Hartford. Dr. Delaney’s background and research focus is on leadership in higher education, student engagement, programmatic development and organizational role perception in executive administration.
As the Director of Engineering Experiential Education in the College of Engineering, Dr. Delaney serves as the director of the Engineering House Learning Community (EHLC), the Co-manager of International Engineering Programs (IEP), the Co-op coordinator for the College of Engineering, and the Co-director of the College’s Peer Advisor program. He also leads various faculty and staff advisor trainings at both the College and University levels and is a College of Engineering engagement representative for external industry partners. The primary focus of his work is to provide students, faculty, staff and external partners with valuable and meaningful experiences that enhance personal development and create relationships that lead to lasting connections amongst all stakeholders.

Prior to working at UConn, Dr. Delaney taught K-12 at various levels in special education resource classrooms throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. He also worked as an academic coach for an educational consulting firm, working with college students across the country. In his free time, he loves spending time with his family, watching and playing basketball, going to concerts, and playing music. He is a diehard fan of all New England sports, especially UConn Basketball.

Theo Menounos
Assistant Director | College of Engineering Career Readiness Lead, Center for Career Development
Theo joined the Center for Career Development in 2022, where he currently supports the College of Engineering. In his previous role at UConn, Theo oversaw Career Management and Personal Branding for the full-time MBA program. Prior to joining UConn, Theo spent more than 15 years working in Talent Acquisition and People Development for some of the leading financial services organizations in Southeast Europe.
Theo has a BA in European Community Studies from the London Southbank University and an MA in International Business and Management from the University of Westminster, London.
In his free time, Theo likes to play (badly), coach (decently) and watch (no skills required) soccer.
